Glenn Heino - Photographer

Glenn Heino is originally from Massachusetts, where he made his home for 30 years. While working his way through school he learned management in the retail trade and art field. At the age of 21 he opened his own art gallery and custom framing shop just outside of Framingham, MA. After 7 successful years in his own gallery, he decided to sell his business and move to Florida.

He had also been actively engaged in computer repair for several years and decided to start a career in something else he loved. Starting in his home, he repaired and sold PCs to many of his friends. After several months of small scale sales, he decided to pursue this interest more. He has been working for himself in the computer field for the past 19 years. He is currently the owner of eComDat, Inc., a full service PC network integrator in Boca Raton, FL.

"As a young boy, I used my father’s 35mm camera every chance I got. I loved to take the pictures at every family get together and celebration. It seemed natural to me. As a teenager, I bought my own camera and spent most of my money on film and processing. It was something that I loved to do. I also felt there was a lot more to learn beyond the f/stops and shutter speeds. As I got older and life got more complicated, I slowed down and eventually stopped using film. In the late 90’s, I started using digital cameras and my passion for photography skyrocketed. I got involved with camera clubs, workshops, and classes anywhere possible. Today photography is a major part of my life. I love to shoot and do so every chance I get. When I am not shooting an assignment, I like to shoot for my own portfolio of “fine art” photography." says Glenn.

Glenn has always had an interest in art and photography. He has been actively involved with the Boca Raton Museum of Art since moving to Florida in 1989. He regularly attends photography classes, workshops, and seminars. His love for photography as an art form has grown continuously since. He is also an active member of the Boca Raton Museum Artists’ Guild where he shows his work regularly.

For Glenn, photography allows him to express his creativity in a medium he loves.

Glenn also does photography professionally. This started when several people asked him to shoot a portrait of themselves and their family members.

When asked “How do you approach your subjects when making a portrait?” Heino responded. "Every portrait must show the essence of the person. I feel a great portrait can show you who a person is, in that single moment captured by the camera. In order to do this successfully, I need to know my subject. I take the time to interview them, I call them on the phone and feel their personality, I watch them and look carefully to see where their special qualities lie. Every person has his own unique personality. I work to capture and show it. Where ever possible, I try to put an artistic twist into my portraiture. This makes a good portrait great."

He also does commercial product photography for print and websites.

Since high school, he has had an interest in art and photography. His computer background combined with digital photography led him to a proficiency in Adobe Photoshop. Glenn occasionally teaches Photoshop in art schools and photography studios.

He continues to develop his skills as an artist while sharing his expertise with others.
